Great article! It's really staggering the progress that Rourke has made this season. Same could be said for Sadowy, Labanc, and Bergman. Good stuff for Sharks fans, and hopefully the Sharks team in the future.

Nice Tim, cool to get an inside take on him like that from Lorne Frey. Nice connections my man.
Reading that though just gets me even more pumped up for training camp, which i think is going to be outstanding with all are youngsters battling it out. Really exciting stuff, as a Sharks fan i don't know how you can not be pumped up about our prospects. We've got some good (frank)ing talent, it's the one Doug Wilson & company are good at, drafting.

You'd figure as it stands right now Goodrow will draw back into the lines with Wingels out. I'm i the only one who'd rather have Tierney inthe lineup over Goodrow?

Cant be anymore lackluster than Goodrow. I like the guy but not alot of production.

Bergman will bring much needed grit to the D core. Hope he can stick around after training camp.

Hey Tim you follow the Maple Leafs, would Mike Santorelli be a good top 9 pick up for us. I just remember being really impressed with him when we played the Leafs. He shouldn't be a high price tag either. Just looking at possible upcoming UFA's that'll be cheap and could help us out.

Also what about Cody Franson? Could he help the Sharks blueline?

Right i like Goodrow too, i think he could become a valuable bottom 6 guy in time. But it's probably best if he goes to Worcester & develop his game more.

Santorelli would be an offensive upgrade over Sheppard, but Shep has better underlying stats like possession and faceoff percentage. I think they'd be better off sticking with Sheppard and flirting with Hertl as 3C right now if only because they're both going to be cheaper and Herl has the potential to be better offensively than Santorelli.

I'm a big Franson fan and I think he gets more grief than he should simply because of the market he's in. That being said, thanks to Glen Sather's deal with Marc Staal, Franson is going to get silly money on the free agent market. I'd rather the Sharks go after Andrej Sekera who is only a year older and will be much cheaper.

We know 1 spot will be open......Vlasic/Burns, Braun/Dillon, Mirco............that'll leave Tennyson, Demelo, Bergman, & Abeltshauser. If we don't go outside the organization to fill it.

Hey Tim do you know anything about Schoenborn? I know we got him in last draft but Im curious if anyone knows his potential? Anyways Im excited to be moving up to Oregon from CA and will be able to see some Winterhawks games this year. They also have guys like Bjorkstrand, Turgeon and Petan.

After Bergmans decent juniors I hope he gets a hard look in camp. Even a guy at his level cant be as bad as Irwin/Hannan.

Not much, to be honest.

I know that he's a Tommy Wingels type player so I'd limit his potential to the bottom six, although I'd say he's got a long way to go to get to the Sharks roster. His numbers are up from last season and his penalty minutes are down so we can speculate on him maturing as a player.

Gotta love that silly money

I agree about Sekera would love to see him in teal.............and Jagr on Logan's wing

I know Sharksman would love Jagr as he would call him a vet retred who won't fit into Mclellen's system & it won't work out

Right i'd concur he seems like a bottom 6 type player with all his penalty minutes. A red ass Grinder type who doesn't love those types of players.

But yeah Beast he'll have 1 more season at Portland next year before he's done with Juniors, always nice to be able to see the draft picks play.

Wilson has said he won't be going after any rentals.
SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS: Mark Purdy believes Sharks GM Doug Wilson faces a difficult choice leading up to the trade deadline. Does he add a player or two to boost the Sharks’ lineup? Does he trade pending UFAs Antti Niemi, Tyler Kennedy and James Sheppard for draft picks? Does he stand pat, or try to move a young player for a young player? “I will not be acquiring any rent-a-players,” Wilson said Tuesday. “I will be giving young players a chance to perform.”

In all seriousness, I would appreciate it if Juggles puts Hertl,Kennedy, and Mcginn back together.

Good. This team is more than a player or two away from legitimately contending for the cup, but has some great pieces for a retool or an on-the-fly rebuild, depending on the way you look at it.
